Year 5 - Garrett Class

Welcome to Garrett's class page.

Term 4

The first week of the 4th term we will focus on Roald Dahl's Revolting Rhymes and then as the whole school theme is Fabulous Fables, we will be looking in depth at the poem of the Pied Piper of Hamlin, linking our DT to the story by constructing the back drop to Mrs Brattle's end of term play. During science lessons we will be studying the life cycle of various mammals, with a focus on rats. All good stuff!

A carry over from last term is the Moon calendar and research project. This project is due back in class the week of 20th March.

A very exciting opportunity has arisen to visit the Noel Coward Theatre and the Houses of Parliament. This trip is planned for Friday 31st March and more details will follow shortly.

Our trips to the Common will continue next term. Unfortunately, our poor cleaner has quite a job on a Monday and Thursday cleaning up the mud we stomp back into the building. With this in mind, if children who go to the Common regularly could have a pair of trainers or wellies at school for them to change into, we could perhaps cut down on the mud we bring back into the building. If you are free at 12pm on a Monday or Thursday for half an hour and would like to walk down to the Common with us, please let me know.

Please can I ask that ALL items of clothing are labeled.  You would be surprised how many times a day jumpers are found on the floor, and with a label we can return it to its rightful owner.

Please keep an eye on the school website, especially the school calendar for upcoming events.

As always, should you have any questions or queries please do hesitate to contact me on garrett@thewellsfreeschool.co.uk. I will do my best to get back to you as soon as I can.
