Music

The Wells Free School Vision for Music:

Music encourages children to develop their innate creativity through a subject which is multi-sensory. It crosses the boundaries of other forms of communication and allows all children explore their creativity, express themselves and to shine.  At TWFS, we want children to be able to sing, play a musical instrument and create music together. To enable this to happen, we want to ensure that we are offering all elements of the National Music Plan’s high-quality music provision list:

  • Music should be represented in the school structure, with a designated Music Lead
  • Timetabled curriculum music of at least one hour each week of the school year
  • Access to lessons across a range of instruments, and voice.
  • A school choir
  • A school ensemble/band/group.
  • Space for rehearsals and individual practice.
  • A termly school performance.
  • Opportunity to enjoy live performance at least once a year
  • Access to lesson across a range of instruments and voice

All pupils in Year 4 have ukulele lessons.

We are also able to offer clarinet, flute, brass, guitar, keyboard, drumkit, cello and violin lessons provided by Make Time for Music.
