Vision for Design and Technology

Design and Technology has the potential to engage children in analysis and solving of design problems, leading to production of high-quality solutions across a variety of contexts. The aim of the Design and Technology curriculum is to provide pupils the opportunity to consolidate a variety of skills in designing and making a product with a ‘Design, Make and Evaluate’ approach, as well as develop a critical understanding in the impact on daily life and the wider world through evaluating present and past design and technology. Educators should provide a rich Design and Technology curriculum where pupils acquire a broad range of subject knowledge and draw upon disciplines that include Mathematics, Science, Computing and Art. We will ensure our pupils have an innovative environment which allows them to investigate and experiment in a safe, supporting environment. We aim to inspire the next generation to be empowered in designing and evaluating their own products to help solve various world problems.
